A sculpture inspired by venom for and exasperation with squirrels which consume the best produce in the garden. This is the sequel to the Squirrel chastiser made in 2009

The starting point for the crossbow was a sawn off table leg. The trigger mechanism was tricky

Japanese chopsticks make good arrows (Chinese chopsticks are blunt at both ends)

Japanese chopsticks have good penetrative power. Without fletching they do creep. There are plans afoot for an array of more primitive ammunition

Home grown cob nuts which the artist did not get to enjoy as squirrels got to them first
